Having the right kind of furniture in your dining room is vital for the comfort levels and efficiency of your dining room. It's more than just buying chairs and the dining table installing them in your dining space.

Several factors are playing at a time here.

1) Size and shape of the dining table
2) Number of dining chairs and their texture
3) Supporting furniture such as cabinets and other storage facilities

Apart from these factors one factor is always overlooked.

Before you finalize your dining room furniture it is necessary to correctly analyze your space and get the perfect pieces. While analyzing the space you should look for

1) Overall volume of the dining space - This includes it's dimensions and height. Many times dining rooms have double heights because the upper lobby overlook into the dining space from above. In such cases the volume becomes suddenly important and even a so called big table looks tiny.

2) Wall finishes - Wall finishes and the existing decorating themes play a vital role in picking up the dining room furniture. The furniture you picked must blend well with the existing interior design theme.

A big dining table in a tiny space will not only feel congested but at the same time will make it difficult from efficiency point of view. But this big table in a taller dining space will look tiny because space itself has expanded. It is not just about occupying a number of people on the dining table at the time of the gathering.

If you have a big dining space but only two people living in the house then most will think that let’s buy a tiny 4 seate dining table. But with that small table most of the space in the dining room will remain unoccupied giving the feeling of emptiness. That’s why you must take into consideration the whole volume of the dining space while picking up the furniture.

That is why while picking up the dining room furniture take into account the space into which you will be placing it. The first and the foremost though and preference should be to efficiency. Then comes it’s shape, size, color and texture so that visually the entire set up is appealing.
